Philips has announced that their next-generation 6000 Series 4K televisions will be arriving in June and July of this year. These TVs will come with Google Cast tech built right into them. Basically, it’s just like having a Chromecast, but it’s housed inside of the frame instead of riding along outside on a dongle. Owners of these televisions will be able to cast streaming content of their choice from their phones, tablets, or computers.

There will be four different variants of the Philips 6000 4K television: a 43-inch model, a 49-inch model, a 55-inch model, and a 65-inch model. All of these work with HDMI 2.0a with HDCP2.2 on each HDMI port. You also get built-in HEVC and VP9 decoders. They are also advertised to have “Sonic Emotion Premium sound enhancement” that is supposed to give the viewer an immersive 3D sound experience via “Absolute 3D” technology. The main goal of these products is to provide users with UltraHD performance that doesn’t break the bank. HDR means you’re getting deep, rich blacks, and the Pixel Plus Ultra HD processing engine means crisp, bright images your eyeballs are going to love.

These televisions are very thin and sport narrow bezels. They perch atop metal legs and have an overall minimalist feel to them. They will be fairly inexpensive for their size and quality, with the smallest one clocking in at $650 and the truly massive one sporting a $1499.99 price tag. The models and their release dates are as follows from Philips:

  • 43PFL6621/F7 $649.99 July 2016
  • 49PFL6921/F7 $799.99 June 2016
  • 55PFL6921/F7 $999.99 June 2016
  • 65PFL6621/F7 $1499.99 July 2016

Expect to see more Google Cast-ready televisions rolling out over the course of this year, as Google has made it clear that they want to make the living room their next conquest. What do you think of these stream-ready boobtubes? Let us know your opinion in the comments below!
