Maker Studios is making the jump to scripted dramas with the debut of web series Oh, You Pretty Things! in partnership with Nylon.
The 10-episode series will premiere May 19 on fashion and beauty YouTube channel The Platform. Additional content from the show will be available on The Platform, Nylon TV and Maker’s music channels.
“Nylon has a distinct point of view on all things lifestyle and is a clear partner for Maker and The Platform,” said Maker chief content officer Erin McPherson. “Oh, You Pretty Things! is a celebration of music and fashion, and we are excited to team up with Nylon to bring audiences a new take on the millennial drama.”
Oh, You Pretty Things! stars Francesca Eastwood as lifestyle blogger Olivia as she and her friends — fashion designer Tennessee (Sarah Dumont), ex-boyfriend Noah (Tui Asau), love interest Shepard (Alexander Nifong) and singer Marcello (Matthew Grathwol) — try to make it big in Los Angeles.
The series was written by Brian Canning and Christian Casucci and directed by Rico Martinez. Jessica Gelt, Nylon editor-in-chief Marvin Scott Jarrett and Martinez produce.
Jarrett said of working with Maker: “Together we will create innovative content that resonates with our key audiences and provide entertainment for viewers who define our cultural zeitgeist.”
